Who gets maintenance reminders and squawk alerts
Only admins and technicians ever receive maintenance reminders or squawk alerts. You can turn maintenance reminders off for yourself under Notifications. Squawk alerts cannot be turned off.

Only admins and technicians ever receive maintenance reminders or squawk alerts. You can turn maintenance reminders off for yourself under WebYou → Notification settings. Squawk alerts have no switch and cannot be turned off.
Only admins and technicians are notified#
There is no way to send maintenance reminders to anybody else. Dispatchers, instructors, students and renters are never emailed or pushed about an inspection or a squawk, whatever their notification settings say.
If the person who needs to know about the fleet is not getting anything, the fix is their role, not their preferences.
Turn maintenance reminders off for yourself#
Open your notification preferences
WebYou → Notification settings, or AppSettings → Notifications in the app.
Find the Maintenance section
It only renders for admins and technicians, so if you cannot see it, you are not one.
Toggle Maintenance reminders
One switch, covering aircraft inspection and due-item reminders. Email switches live on the console. Push categories are managed in the app, as the footer of the page says.
This is a personal setting. Turning it off for yourself does not stop anybody else being notified.
Squawk alerts cannot be turned off#
Every squawk filed sends an email and a push to every admin and technician in the school, except the person who filed it. There is no switch for it on either surface.
When a reminder is actually sent#
Each inspection sends up to two: a warning when it enters its Due soon band, and one when it comes due.
The Due soon band is exactly the warning lead you set on the inspection. "Warn me 10 hours out" means the warning goes at 10 hours remaining, not at some separate idea of soon.
An inspection with no warning lead at all sends no warning, only the due notification. The Add inspections form forces a lead of at least 1 hour or 1 day, so this only shows up on inspections created another way.
Hour-based inspections only notify after a close-out#
Calendar inspections are checked automatically through the day, so a 12-month annual will warn you on its own.
Hour-based inspections work differently. Their countdown, their notification and their automatic grounding all happen at one moment: when somebody closes out a flight on that aircraft and enters the meters.
Where the email link takes you#
A maintenance reminder links straight to the inspection it is about, which opens properly in the iOS app.
A squawk alert's button lands on that squawk's own page, on both surfaces. Searching its title from anywhere in the console opens the same page.
