An aircraft engine and propeller under work in a hangar

Every job in the hangar on one record, from the request to sign-off.

Approved before you start

The owner approves, declines or puts off each finding, on the record

Your rates, filled in

Labor at the shop rate, parts at cost plus your markup

Never on your plan

A customer's aircraft does not count toward what you pay

What changes

The owner says yes before you do the work

Send what you found and every owner is asked to approve, decline or put off each item. Answers taken on the phone are logged too.

The invoice is already written

Labor, parts and outside work go on one invoice with the work order number, the tail and the meters, paid by card or ACH.

Nobody calls to ask where the aircraft is

Each job moves from Requested to Ready for pickup, and the owner is told when it arrives and when it is ready.

How it works

One visit, start to finish

1

Open the job

Pick any tail, yours or a customer's, or add a customer's aircraft on the spot.

2

Write up what you find

Findings sit apart from what the owner asked for, each with its labor and parts.

3

Get the owner's answer

Send the findings, or record what they said on the phone.

4

Close it out

Raise one bill for a customer's job; your own aircraft's job just completes.

Who sees what

Prices stay with the people who set them

A technician works the job without running the money, and an owner sees their own aircraft and nothing else.

  • Technicians log their own hours and parts at the shop's rates
  • Only an admin changes a price or who pays
  • Co-owners see the work; only the person billed sees the charges

Open your first work order

Sign up as a maintenance shop, add the aircraft in your hangar and its owner, and open its job.

Everything else in here

  • Work orders on your own fleet too: billed to nobody, or to a leaseback owner
  • Customers' aircraft with their owners, never bookable and never counted on your plan
  • A numbered work order per job, from Requested to Ready for pickup
  • Owner's requests and the shop's findings kept apart, each with its own labor and parts
  • Send findings to the owners to approve, decline or put off, or log the answer from a call
  • Labor at the shop rate, parts and outside work at cost plus your markup, discounts per line
  • Hobbs and tach in and out recorded on the job, never written to the aircraft
  • Link an open inspection or squawk to an item, and it is done when it is signed off
  • Raise one invoice for the job, with the work order number, tail and meters on it
  • Sales tax line by line: parts taxed, labor not, where your state works that way
  • Owners hear when the aircraft arrives and when it is ready, and can sign in to see their own jobs
  • Technicians log their own hours and parts; only an admin changes a price or who pays
  • Job invoices sync to QuickBooks Online

Common questions

Can we use work orders on our own aircraft?
Yes. A job on your own fleet is billed to nobody, or to a leaseback owner if you set one. It tracks the same findings, labor, parts and sign-offs, and customers' aircraft sit beside your fleet in the same organization without ever being bookable to fly.
Do customer aircraft count toward what I pay?
No. Only aircraft your organization operates itself are counted on the plan.
Can the owner see the job?
Yes, once they sign in. An owner sees their own aircraft and jobs and answers the findings you send them. Only the person the job is billed to sees the prices and the invoice.
Can a job bill two co-owners?
Not yet. One person pays for each job; co-owners can see the work but are not billed.
Does it write my logbook entries?
No. It records the job, the sign-offs on linked inspections and squawks, and the meters, but the logbook entry is still yours to write and sign.
