See every aircraft's ADs, and search the AD library

Maintenance has two AD views. Fleet ADs lists every aircraft's Airworthiness Directives in one list, grouped by aircraft or by status, and you decide them right there. The AD library searches every AD published since 1995 by number, maker, model or any word, and shows which of your aircraft each one names.

For owners, admins and technicians

Under WebMaintenance, Fleet ADs lists every aircraft's Airworthiness Directives in one list, and the AD library searches every AD the Federal Register has published since 1995. Decide an AD from the fleet list exactly as you would on the aircraft: it is the same decision, kept with who made it and when.

Fleet ADs#

With Find them for me chosen under WebSettings → Airworthiness Directives, Fleet ADs shows the ADs that name each aircraft's airframe, engine or propeller, the same list each aircraft's ADs tab shows, for the whole fleet at once. A shop's customer aircraft are included.

Use Group by to switch between two ways of reading it:

  • Aircraft: each aircraft, then its ADs under To review, Applies and Not applicable. Answers "what does this aircraft still need decided?"
  • Status: each AD once, with the aircraft it names beneath it. Answers "which of our aircraft does this AD touch?"

Choose a row to read the AD beside the list. The … on a row, or Decide at the foot of the AD, marks it Applies (track it as an inspection, or nothing to track) or Not applicable with a reason, or sends it Back to review. See Review the ADs for an aircraft for what each answer means.

The search box searches AD numbers, titles, makers, subjects and tail numbers, and the Aircraft filter narrows the list to the tails you pick.

On Home, ADs to review under Needs you counts the ADs nobody has decided yet. In the app it opens them grouped by aircraft; tap one to read it and decide.

The AD status report#

WebReports → AD status lists every AD the library holds against each aircraft with its status: Applies and the inspection tracking it, Not applicable and why, or To review, with who decided and when. For an AD tracked as an inspection it adds whether it recurs or is one-time, when it was last done and the method of compliance written on that sign-off, and when it is next due (a date, or a meter reading for an hour interval). Group it by aircraft, status or AD, and export it for an inspector. It covers what the library reaches: ADs published since 1995 that name the aircraft's make and model, engine or propeller. Keep the ADs it cannot reach (older ones, or ones against parts the aircraft record does not name) tracked by hand.

On a work order#

On a job, Add → ADs to review puts the aircraft's ADs on it as findings, so AD research is part of the annual. It adds one item for each AD nobody has decided yet, and one for each AD inspection that is overdue or due soon. Pressing it again adds only what is new.

An AD item reads Decide AD …: that opens the AD on the aircraft, and deciding it there marks the item done. AD items are the shop's own research, so they are never sent to the owner or counted among the findings waiting for an answer. An AD inspection item is done when the inspection is signed off, like any other.

The AD library#

AD library lists every AD published since 1995, newest first, and checks for new ones daily. Type in the search box to find:

  • An AD by number, whole or by its start: 2013-11-11, or 2013-11 for every AD in that issue.
  • Words anywhere in it: a maker, a model, a part. lycoming crankshaft finds the ADs that mention both.

The Type filter narrows it to airplanes, engines, propellers and so on. Choose an AD to read it laid out as the Federal Register prints it. When the organization finds ADs for you, On your aircraft lists the aircraft it names and where each one stands.

When a new AD is published#

AerScheduler checks the Federal Register every day. When a new AD names one of your aircraft, owners, admins and technicians are told by email and push, and it appears in the inbox. The message names the AD and the aircraft, and opens that aircraft's ADs (or Fleet ADs when it names more than one).

Every Monday, the same people get one email listing how many ADs are still undecided on each aircraft, with a button to Fleet ADs. It comes only when something is waiting.

To stop these, turn off New ADs for our aircraft on WebNotification settings, or New ADs under AppSettings → Notifications in the app. They come only while the organization has Find them for me on.
