Choose which emails and alerts you get
Notifications come by email and by push to the iOS app, grouped by category so you can turn off the ones you do not need without losing the ones you do.
For owners, admins, dispatchers, instructors, students, renters and technicians
Email switches live on WebNotification settings, reached from the account menu at the foot of the left rail. Push switches live only in the iOS app, under AppSettings → Notifications → Push. Both are per school and both save as you touch them.
Two places, two different jobs#
| Where | What it holds | |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications (the bell) | Topbar in the console, the Inbox bubble in the app | Everything that has happened to you, with an unread count. Paged and searchable |
| Notification settings | Account menu → Notification settings | Which of those things also reach you by email or push |
In the iOS app, tapping a notification takes you to the thing it is about.
Choose which emails you get#
Open the account menu at the foot of the left rail and choose Notification settings
Or go straight to app.aerscheduler.com/me/notifications.
Leave Email notifications on
That master switch is the top of the page. Everything below it is a category.
Turn off the categories you do not want
Each one saves immediately. There is no Save button.

The categories#
| Group | Covers | Who sees the group |
|---|---|---|
| Organization | A member joining your school | Admins |
| Reservations | A booking created, updated, cancelled or completed | Everyone |
| Billing | An invoice received, paid or declined, and payment reminders | Everyone |
| Documents | A document about to expire | Everyone |
| Currency | A currency about to expire | Everyone |
| Endorsements | An endorsement about to expire | Instructors and admins |
| Maintenance | Inspection reminders | Admins and technicians |
| Status | Being grounded | Everyone |
Groups you would never receive anything from are hidden rather than shown greyed out, which is why two people at the same school see different pages.

Push notifications#
Push goes to the iOS app, and the push switches exist only there: AppSettings → Notifications → Push. The web page's switches are email only, which the line at the bottom of that page says.
The two channels are independent. Turning reservation email off does not turn reservation push off.
What the master switch does not stop#
School-wide announcements are also always delivered. Everyone in the school with the app installed receives the push, and announcements are never emailed. The role tags on an announcement describe who a notice is aimed at; the board itself is readable by everybody.
Preferences are per school#
If you fly at two schools you have two sets of switches. Switch schools first, then set them. See Fly at more than one school.
Unsubscribing from an email you did not expect#
Every notification email carries an unsubscribe link in the footer. One click, no sign-in, and that category stops. It is the quickest route for somebody who cannot remember their password, and the only route for somebody who is not at a computer.
