Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-11454 · British Aerospace Model BAe 146 and Avro 146-RJ Series Airplanes
British Aerospace Model BAe 146 and Avro 146-RJ Series Airplanes
Superseded. A later AD replaced this one: AD 2023-02-10. Comply with the one in force.
Model BAe 146 and Avro 146-RJ series airplanes, as listed in British Aerospace Service Bulletin SB.53-152, dated October 8, 1998, certificated in any category.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to all British Aerospace Model BAe 146 series airplanes and certain British Aerospace Model Avro 146-RJ series airplanes, that requires repetitive eddy current inspections to detect fatigue cracking along the face of the retraction attachment boss in the nose landing gear sidewall; and corrective action, if necessary. This amendment is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil aviation authority. The actions specified by this AD are intended to detect and correct fatigue cracking along the face of the retraction attachment boss in the nose landing gear sidewall, which could result in premature extension of the nose landing gear or depressurization of the airplane.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
