Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-10298 · Airbus Model A300 and A300-600 Series Airplanes
Airbus Model A300 and A300-600 Series Airplanes
Superseded. A later AD replaced this one: AD 99-19-26. Comply with the one in force.
Model A300-600 series airplanes, as listed in Airbus Service Bulletin A300-57A6087, dated August 5, 1997; and Model A300 series airplanes, as listed in Airbus Service Bulletin A300-57A0234, dated August 5, 1997; certificated in any category.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain Airbus Model A300 and A300-600 series airplanes, that requires inspections to detect cracks in Gear Rib 5 of the main landing gear (MLG) attachment fittings at the lower flange, and repair, if necessary. This amendment is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. The actions specified by this AD are intended to detect and correct fatigue cracking of the MLG attachment fittings, which could result in reduced structural integrity of the airplane.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
