Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-9987 · Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A. (CASA) Model CN-235 Series Airplanes
Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A. (CASA) Model CN-235 Series Airplanes
Model CN-235 series airplanes; as listed in CASA Service Bulletin SB-235-53-21M, Revision 1, dated November 21, 1994 (military airplanes), and CASA Service Bulletin SB-235-53-21, Revision 3, dated November 30, 1994 (non-military airplanes); certificated in any category.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain CASA Model CN-235 series airplanes, that requires replacement of the center wing attachment rods with new rods. This amendment is prompted by a report from the manufacturer indicating that these rods failed during a full-scale fatigue test. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent fatigue failure of these rods, which consequently could reduce the structural integrity of the wing-to-fuselage attachment.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
