Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-9406 · Saab AB, Saab Aerosystems Airplanes
Saab AB, Saab Aerosystems Airplanes
This AD applies to Saab AB, Saab Aerosystems SAAB 340B.
The models as the FAA's AD index lists them. The serial ranges, installed parts and exceptions are in the AD itself: read it at the FAA.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain Saab Model SAAB 340B airplanes, that requires inspections to detect cracking of the beams located over the overwing emergency exits, and replacement of the beam with a new beam, if necessary. This amendment is prompted by a report that a batch of beams with cracking may have been installed on these airplanes. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent cabin pressure leakage, consequent loss of cabin pressurization, and reduction of the load carrying capability of the associated structure, as a result of cracked beams.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
