Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-9394 · The Boeing Company Airplanes
The Boeing Company Airplanes
This AD applies to The Boeing Company 757-200 Series, 757-200CB Series, 757-200PF Series, 757-300 Series.
The models as the FAA's AD index lists them. The serial ranges, installed parts and exceptions are in the AD itself: read it at the FAA.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to Boeing Model 757 series airplanes, that requires modification of the engine fuel indication circuits. This amendment is prompted by numerous reports of false indications of engine fuel valve faults, which have led to the flight crew conducting rejected takeoffs (RTO). The actions specified by this AD are intended to reduce such false indications and the flight crew's consequent execution of an RTO at high speed during takeoff roll, which could result in the airplane overrunning the runway, damage to the airplane, and injury to airplane occupants.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
