Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-9080 · Airbus Airplanes
Airbus Airplanes
This AD applies to Airbus A320-111, A320-211, A320-212, A320-231, A320-232.
The models as the FAA's AD index lists them. The serial ranges, installed parts and exceptions are in the AD itself: read it at the FAA.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain Airbus Model A320 series airplanes, that requires modification of the brake steering control unit (BSCU). This amendment is prompted by reports that the BSCU on these airplanes allowed a 90-degree rotation of the nose gear after landing, which resulted in significant damage to the wheels. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent failure of the nose gear tires and wheels and the loss of directional control of the airplane while it is on the ground.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
