Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-9078 · Short Brothers PLC Airplanes
Short Brothers PLC Airplanes
This AD applies to Short Brothers PLC SD3-60.
The models as the FAA's AD index lists them. The serial ranges, installed parts and exceptions are in the AD itself: read it at the FAA.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain Short Brothers Model SD3-60 series airplanes, that requires installation of a certain time delay relay and associated wiring into a circuit of the rudder gust lock. This amendment is prompted by reports of inadvertent engagements of the rudder gust lock on in-service Model SD3-60 series airplanes. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent premature locking of the rudder gust lock, which could result in reduced controllability of the airplane in flight and during landing roll.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
