Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-8956 · The Boeing Company Airplanes
The Boeing Company Airplanes
This AD applies to The Boeing Company 757-200 Series, 757-200CB Series, 757-200PF Series, 757-300 Series.
The models as the FAA's AD index lists them. The serial ranges, installed parts and exceptions are in the AD itself: read it at the FAA.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain Boeing Model 757 series airplanes. This action requires inspection to detect cracking of the lower spar chord of the engine strut, removal of the stiffener straps from the mid-chord, inspection of the fastener holes, and modification or repair. This amendment is prompted by a report of cracking in the lower spar chord of an engine strut. The actions specified in this AD are intended to prevent cracking in the lower spar chord of the engine strut, which could result in the inability of the strut to carry required engine support loads.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
