Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica S.A. (EMBRAER) Model EMB-500 Airplanes
This AD applies to Model EMB-500 airplanes, serial numbers 50000005 through 50000134, 50000136, 50000137, and 50000139 through 50000165, certificated in any category.
We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:
Unless already done, within the next 24 calendar months after November 18, 2010 (the effective date of this AD), rework the elevators, elevators trim tabs, and ailerons surfaces by drilling additional drain holes in them following Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica S.A. (EMBRAER) Service Bulletin 500-57-0001, dated April 28, 2010.
