Alpha Aviation Design Limited (Type Certificate No. A48EU Previously Held by APEX Aircraft and AVIONS PIERRE ROBIN) Model R2160 Airplanes
This AD applies to Model R2160 airplanes, serial numbers 1 through 378, that:
(1) Are certificated in any category; and
(2) Do not have Robin Aviation Modification No. 14 Fuel Shut-off Control Protector installed.
We are adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above. This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product. The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as:
Do the following actions, unless already done: Within the next 200 hours time-in-service after April 9, 2007 (the effective date of this AD), install a protector on the fuel shut-off control according to the instructions of Robin Aviation Imperative Service Bulletin No. 180, dated March 20, 2001.
Note: This AD differs from the MCAI and/or service information as follows: No differences.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
