Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-13027 · Boeing Model 777 Series Airplanes Equipped With Rolls-Royce Model Trent 800 Series Engines
Boeing Model 777 Series Airplanes Equipped With Rolls-Royce Model Trent 800 Series Engines
Model 777-200 and -300 series airplanes, equipped with Rolls-Royce Model Trent 800 series engines; certificated in any category.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD) that is applicable to certain Boeing Model 777 series airplanes. This action requires revising the Airplane Flight Manual to specify that the engine anti-ice must be "on" during all ground and flight operations when icing conditions exist or are anticipated. This action is necessary to prevent ingestion of ice that could cause shutdown of both engines during operation in icing conditions, and result in a forced landing of the airplane.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
