Airworthiness Directive · Amendment 39-12274 · Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A. (CASA), Model CN-235 Series Airplanes
Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A. (CASA), Model CN-235 Series Airplanes
Superseded. A later AD replaced this one: AD 2016-11-08. Comply with the one in force.
Model CN-235 series airplanes, serial numbers C001 to C074, certificated in any category.
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to certain CASA Model CN- 235 series airplanes, that requires modification of the rigging of the engine control cable assembly and replacement of either the entire engine control cable assembly or a segment of the control cables. This amendment is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information issued by a foreign airworthiness authority. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent fatigue of the engine control cables, leading to breakage of the cables, which could result in reduced controllability of the airplane. This action is intended to address the identified unsafe condition.
The aircraft, engines and makers this AD names, by the model designations in its text. A model listed here may still be outside the AD's serial ranges.
